NZ Mortgage Comparator ("the App") is operated by Dream App Dev. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.
Loan details you enter: Loan amounts, interest rates, terms, and other mortgage-related inputs you provide when using our calculators. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you use features that require it (e.g., Rate Alerts).
Rate Alerts: If you set up a rate alert, we store your email address and target rate on our server so we can notify you when rates change.
Analytics: We collect anonymous usage analytics (e.g., which screens are viewed, which features are used) to help improve the App. We do not track personally identifiable information through analytics.
Error tracking: We collect anonymous crash reports and error logs to fix bugs. These reports do not include personally identifiable information.

- Credit card or payment information
- Government ID or IRD numbers
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or other device data
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the App's mortgage comparison and calculation features

5. Data Storage & Security
Most calculator inputs are stored locally on your device and are never sent externally.
Account information and rate alert preferences are stored securely with third-party cloud providers that use industry-standard encryption. All data transmission uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — contact us and we'll provide what we have
- Delete your account and all associated data — use the "Delete Account" option in the App's settings, or email us
- Opt out of rate alerts at any time
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove all associated data from our servers within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
